We Need Fosters!

Please consider becoming a foster home for a GSP in need.
If not you, who?

It is hard to beat the satisfaction of placing a dog in a home that loves him or her!

If you are interested in becoming a foster for Texas GSP Rescue, please fill out an application. (It is the same application as our adoption application). We are ALWAYS in need of loving foster homes! The more foster homes we have, the more GSPs can be rescued.

We are also looking for foster homes in OKLAHOMA and LOUISIANA. There is not a GSP Rescue in either state and we do our best to cover intake but could do a much better job with fosters there. Open Positions

We are in need of volunteers for the following positions:

1. San Antonio Event Coordinator - This volunteer will coordinate the place and date for events in San Antonio and getting volunteers there. Time estimated: Depends on activities, can be time intensive for a short period and then not at all. It is flexible to work around someone's schedule.

2. Houston Event Coordinator - This volunteer will coordinate the place and date for events in Houston and getting volunteers there. Time estimated: Depends on activities, can be time intensive for a short period and then not at all. It is flexible to work around someone's schedule.

3. Austin Event Coordinator - This volunteer will coordinate the place and date for events in Houston and getting volunteers there. Time estimated: Depends on activities, can be time intensive for a short period and then not at all. It is flexible to work around someone's schedule. This Coordinator will have additional responsibilities as a result of our Rally to Rescue partnership in the area in regard to materials to bring to the event and reporting requirements.

4. Dallas Area Application Processer - This volunteer will be someone already familiar with Texas GSP Rescue that will process applications in the DFW area.

5. Houston Area Application Processer - This volunteer will be someone already familiar with Texas GSP Rescue that will process applications in the Houston area.

6. Photographers! - Our dogs really primarily "sold" by their online bio, so they need some good pictures! Anyone interested in helping to take photographs of our foster dogs would be much appreciated! We have a need for this in all areas that we have fosters: Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Amarillo and Lufkin.

7. Oklahoma Coordinator - Texas GSP Rescue has been fortunate to be able to cover a lot of intake in the Oklahoma area in which there is no GSP Rescue. In an effort to better develop this area, as well as ease the burden of our Texas Coordinators, we are looking for someone to coordinate our efforts and intake in Oklahoma. 8. Transport Coordinator - This volunteer will help us move dogs around to their new foster homes. Often a dog comes in to one area where there are no foster openings but we have one in another area of the state, rather than turn that dog down, we arrange transport to the new foster. The transport coordinator would post on our rescue lists, facebook, craigslist to find transport and then would make sure all parties were connected and in touch with the transport. This job is time intensive at the time of arrangement and possibly for last minute details of the transport. A good estimate would be 1-2 hours of arrangment for each transport and we typically have from 5-10 transports per month.
